Accounting Advisor
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Volunteer Accounting Advisor to provide expert guidance and support to our nonprofit organization's financial operations. This volunteer position plays a critical role in advising on accounting practices, financial strategies, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards.

What You’ll Do

Financial Guidance: Provide expert advice and counsel on accounting principles, financial management, and internal controls to ensure sound financial practices within the organization.

Compliance Oversight: Review financial procedures and practices to ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices.

Risk Management: Identify financial risks and vulnerabilities, proposing strategies to mitigate risks and strengthen financial resilience.

Bookkeeping Advice: Provide guidance on bookkeeping processes, chart of accounts setup, transaction recording, and periodic reconciliations.

Training and Capacity Building: Conduct training sessions or workshops to staff and volunteers on bookkeeping fundamentals, financial literacy, and best practices.
Who You are

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Professional certification (CPA, ACCA, etc.) preferred.

Substantial experience in accounting, financial management, or advisory roles, with a focus on bookkeeping practices within nonprofit organizations.

Comprehensive knowledge of accounting principles, financial analysis, budgeting, internal controls, and nonprofit accounting standards.
